The visit of the foreign trade and economic relations

In response to the invitation of the Slovenian-Chinese Business Association the Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission of the city of Chongqing visited Slovenia on 25 April 2016 together with an important economic delegation, comprised of the following companies: China 18th Metallurgical Construction Co.,Ltd, Chongqing Xiyong Micro-Electronics Industrial Park, Chongqing Western Modern Logistics Industry Park, Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (Group) Co., Ltd., Chongqing General Trading Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd., Great Dragon Network (China) Co., Ltd., Chongqing Oconnect Cross-Border E-Commerce Co., Ltd., Chongqing Ruiqian Science &Technology Co.,Ltd in Chongqing Zhongneng Oil Purifier Manufacture CO., Ltd. 

B2B meetings were scheduled for this event, where the following companies from Maribor and its surroundings participated in: Pošta Slovenije d.o.o. Nigrad d.d., Apis Vita d.o.o., Snaga d.o.o. 

Xiong Lin, the head of the delegation, was also welcomed by Mayor Dr. Andrej Fištravec. At the meeting they disscused the continuation of business relations between Maribor and Chongqing and stressed the opportunities for cooperation in logistics, especially in terms of goods distribution via the transcontinental rail connection Yuxinou that connects Chongqing with Europe. Moreover, they talked about possible cooperation in waste management strategies and environmental protection, as well as in the purchase of Slovenian food products. As regards the latter, Xiong Lin epressed great interest for educating Chinese students in Maribor in terms of acquiring catering skills and knowledge used in Europe. Dr. Fištravec pointed out that the Secondary School for Catering and Tourism located in Maribor is among the best schools for catering in Europe. At the end of the meeting Xiong Lin invited the Mayor to visit Chongqing together with an economic delegation as soon as possible in order to conclude cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
